Haitises is one of the main ecological attractions of the Dominican Republic. Haitises constitute a karst or relief in rocks, limestone tropical in mogotes, characteristic of these climatic zones of the earth. In its external morphology it presents hills, corridors and valleys, and in its internal morphology cavities, some of great dimensions as those of coast. It is a dense coastal wet forest in the southern part of the Bay of Samana, is an immense reserve full of caves, Taino pictographs, humid forests, and hundreds of species of birds, many of them endemic. The characteristic that distinguishes this mystical place of the other parks of the island are their mogotes or “lomitas”, that reach to reach the 40 meters of height, and cover the complete surface of the park. This phenomenon occurs because of the karstic geography of the region, and the trade winds that, when hitting the mogotes rise and produce rains almost every day of the year.

You don’t have to reach up with your hand and grab the cable to slow yourself down on each of the lines. On zip lines where you have to wear a glove and control the braking, you can have premature braking accidents that leave you suspended in the middle of the zip line or worse, you can brake late and hit the pole at the end. The Waterfall El Limon

El Limón (in English, The Lemon) is a municipal district of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, Samaná Province, Dominican Republic. It is on the north coast of the Samaná Peninsula, on the Atlantic coast. The Limon Waterfall is a spectacular cascade of 50 meters high, with a beautiful natural pool.

Located in the community of Limon in Samana, in the Northeastern Dominican Republic. This tour lasts 4 hours. The Limon Waterfall is plunged into a tropical forest on the Samana peninsula. The way to the waterfall offers you relaxing and enjoyable excursion you will never forget; A one to two hour ride on donkeys, through a tropical forest, will lead you to the foot of an impressive 55 meter high waterfall. This spectacular jump of crystalline waters located in the community of the Limon in the statures of the mountain range of Samana, in the peninsula of the same name. It is visited by thousands of eco tourists each year. El Limon, the crystalline hair of the Sierra de Samana. Waterfall of the Limon, eternal laughter of the abrupt geography of Samana. It’s a magnificent exploration and excursion to the Salto del Limon with a pleasant and serene ride of one or two hours on a mule or horse through a dense tropical moist forest. Along the way, the visitor can enjoy the lush countryside and a lush tropical vegetation. At the end you reach a hostel where the tourist can rest and take a refreshing drink in a wooden shed as he prepares to walk again along a narrow path that descends to the skirt of the jump. The Limon Waterfall is made up of three exits through which water flows through a solid green wall, a product of the hundreds of ferns and the presence of a high level of humidity in the area. The Whale Watching

A unique opportunity to observe humpback whales in their natural calving and mating grounds here in Samana Bay, Dominican Republic. Between December And March, about 2,000 humpback whales come to reproduce in the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s an amazing sight waiting for you every year in the Samana Bay, humpback whales that come from the seas of Iceland, Greenland, Canada, and North America, who come to the Caribbean Sea to give birth and seek a mate in the hot water. From January to March, thousands remain in Samana Bay. The show is impressive, when the 40-ton males jump up the water and fall down a few meters ahead. If it does not win any female reactions the male tries to attract them with a long and monotonous song that the whales can hear up to a radius of 30 kilometers. Only those who are diving can hear this song. After giving birth to their children, the whales prepare their return to the north. Since 1986 “Banco de Plata”, Samana, has become a sanctuary for the protection of whales. Departure is in the morning from Las Terrenas to Samana where you get aboard to the catamaran or different boat depending on the size of group. After Whale watching, in the late morning, you will head west to the island of Cayo Levantado where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch filled with a selection of the typical regional cuisine. Options include fish, chicken, rice and beans, pasta, fruit selection, salad, bread and either a refreshment or water, included in your excursion cost. You may also purchase alcoholic drinks, both national and international from local vendors, which are not included as part of the excursion cost. After lunch and to finalize your wonderful experience you will enjoy the turquoise waters and white sands of Cayo Levantado, with the warm Samana sun or a breezy shade from the coconut trees that abound on the island, you can’t go wrong.

Rincón Beach

Three miles (4.8 km) of still-unspoiled beach cove known for its white sands, quiet waters and gentle waves await you at Playa Rincón, a 15-minute drive or boat ride from the town of Las Galeras. Enjoy fresh grilled fish on the beach at the informal eateries.

This large beach-bay is still undeveloped and can be reached from the road that goes from Samaná to Las Galeras. It has been described by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. One side has docile and calm waters, while the other side has rolling waves for body surfing.
